Kitchen Grime VS The Power of Vinegar
The kitchen is the most difficult room in the house to keep clean. You have to constantly stay on top of it! Cleaning constant spills, greasy walls and kitchen appliances can all take a toll on you.
Vinegar to the rescue! A non-toxic tool that can be a lifesaver when used regularly to tackle a messy kitchen cleanup job. Here are a few tips to demonstrate how vinegar can be an invaluable cleaning tool in your kitchen.
1) Clean up that sticky residue on your walls, range hood, and cabinets by washing them with a sponge dipped in undiluted white vinegar. Use another sponge or rag soaked in hot water to soften and remove grease buildup, then dry with paper towels. If you are dealing with resistant buildup, it may be necessary to “rinse and repeat.” To remove years of greasy buildup, you may need a hard-bristle brush and some elbow grease to get the job done!
2) To clean the interior of your microwave, use a combination of steam and vinegar to clean up the mess. Mix ½ cup white distilled vinegar and ½ cup water in a glass bowl. Bring mixture to a boil inside the microwave. Be careful when you remove the hot bowl then wipe the microwave clean of the loosened food using a paper towel.
3) Your garbage can is often a smelly and germy source of filth in the kitchen. Try cleaning it out in the bathtub with a combination of 2 parts vinegar and 1 part dish detergent or multi-surface liquid. Use a nylon-bristle brush to remove built-on traces of food. Rinse and dry with paper towels.
